Sujit was feeling elated! They reached Murshidabad this early morning. He was standing in front of Hazarduari. He was awestruck by the massive size of the building. He never thought it would be so big.

Their guide was telling them about Hazarduari ina dry and monotonous way. Sujit had already got to know from these talks that the building used to be known as Bara Kothi. It was built in the 19th century during the reign of Nawab Nazim Humayun Jah. It was designed by an architect called Colonel Duncan Mcleod. The palace is huge. It has one hundred and fourteen rooms. It has one thousand doors of which one hundred are false! It is really a remarkable thing. Sujit wondered what an experience it would be to live in a house with a hundred rooms and a thousand doors!

বাংলা মানে : সুজিত খুব খুশি। তারা আজ খুব সকালে মুরশিদাবাদ পৌঁছালো। সে হাজারদুয়ারির সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। প্রাসাদটির বিশালাকার দেখে সে হতচকিত হয়েছিল। সে ভাবতে পারেনি এটি এতো বড়ো হবে। তাদের পথনির্দেশক হাজারদুয়ারি সম্পর্কে নীরস ও একঘেয়েমির সঙ্গে বলছিলেন। এই কথাগুলি থেকে সুজিত জানতে পারে যে প্রাসাদটি বাড়া কোঠি নামে পরিচিত। ঊনবিংশ শতাব্দীতে নবাব নাজিম হুমায়ুন জা-এর রাজত্বকালে এটি নির্মিত হয়েছিল। কর্নেল ডানকান ম্যাকলিওড নামে একজন স্থপতির দ্বারা এটির নকশা করা হয়েছিল। প্রাসাদটি সুবিশাল। এটিতে একশো চোদ্দোটি কক্ষ বা ঘর আছে। এটিতে এক হাজার দরজা আছে যার মধ্যে একশোটি নকল। এটি সত্যিই আশ্চর্যজনক ব্যাপার। সুজিত ভাবছিল এরকম একটি বাড়িতে বাসকরা সে কী দারুণ অভিজ্ঞতা হবে যাতে একশো কক্ষ আছে এবং এক হাজার দরজা!

Visit to Shibpur Botanical Garden

I went to visit to Shibpur Botanical Garden with my parents yesterday. The garden looks like a huge forest. There are plenty of big trees. They have enriched its greenish beauty. We wanderd in the garden and enjoyed tremendouly the trip to our heart's content.
